ABOUT THE LOCATION
The Island Breeze Luau is located adjacent to the Ahu'ena Heiau, on land traditionally known as Kamakahonu (eye of the turtle). Kamakahonu has been called one of the most historical sites in all of Hawaii. It was here that Kamehameha the Great spent his last years and where he eventually died. It was the location of the feast that was held to mark the overthrow of the kapu system, that changed Hawai'i forever. The first missionaries landed at Kamahonu Bay in 1820. Across the bay is Hulihe’e Palace, built by Hawai’i’s governor in 1883, John Adams Kuakini. It was also here that the young prince Leleihoku II enjoyed the calm of Kona before his death and it was here that his brother King Kalakaua maintained a residence and made a boathouse of a historic building.
Island Breeze Productions is a proud supporter of the Ahuʻena Heiau Inc. and a portion of ticket sales goes to the restoration of this precious historical site.

REVIEWS
Great Luau. Excellent food and loved how the show was a story of Big Island/Hawaiian history through music and dance. Excellent setting. Each party was seated at their own table as a Covid precaution.
Great Way To Get In The Spirit Of Hawaii
My husband and I came to the Luau on our first evening in Hawaii, and it was the perfect way to get into the spirit of Hawaii and enjoy our honeymoon. We paid the extra for preferred seating and it did not disappoint. We were at the table closest to the stage and was one of the first tables up to the buffet.
